ABOUT THE EVENT.

A look at the television schedules or local theatre listings shows that interest in true crime shows no sign of ending - if anything, it's growing.

While most content showcases modern crime, there's much to be learned from studying historic cases and policing, and this is the focus of the Crime Through Time conference.

What happened to the princes in the tower? What tools did the detective hunting Jack the Ripper have at their disposal? Did Maria Marten's mother really dream of her death at the hands of William Corder in 1827?

By learning about social conditions of the past, we can begin to understand why and how certain crimes were committed, and the methods available to police at the time.

The weekend conference will feature eight expert speakers - four on each day - and will give an opportunity for delegates to debate some of the most notorious crimes in history.

All this will take place in the iconic four-star Telegraph Hotel, in the historic Coventry city centre.

Places are limited, so we recommend booking your tickets sooner rather than later!

For those overseas, unable to attend in person, we are exploring ways of livestreaming the talks.
